A twelve-year-old male neutered mixed breed dog is presented for acute collapse.

Exam reveals pale mucous membranes with a capillary refill time > 3 seconds. The dog is unresponsive and femoral pulses are absent. Thoracic auscultation reveals an irregularly irregular heart rhythm.
